§ 02 - The Problem
Every generic cover
fails the same way.
The MG3 has a narrow seat with a short base and pronounced shoulder bolsters. Universal covers are cut for wide saloon seats, so on an MG3 they bunch at the base, gape at the shoulders and creep forward every time you get in.
We fitted six of the best-selling universal covers to an MG3. Every one of them failed within a few weeks of short city trips. Always for the same three reasons.

Cut for a bigger seat
Templates scaled from saloon patterns leave slack across the MG3's narrow backrest. The excess gathers into folds down the centre panel and never pulls flat again.

Short base, constant creep
The MG3's cushion is short, so there's little surface for a loose cover to hold onto. City driving means in and out all day, and the cover marches forward a little further each trip.

Wing bolsters left gaping
The MG3's shoulder wings are pronounced. Flat panels bridge across them, leaving an open pocket at the top of the seat that catches crumbs and looks cheap.
That's why we built MGS-001 for the MG3.
